Never Take a Mistress

Today was not as jam-packed as yesterday—thank goodness. During PT, I walked a total of 1500 feet (with the harness), with varying levels of success. I’m getting better, but I’m still catching my toe sometimes. Then I walked 15 feet forward—and 15 feet backwards! Several times. Then I walked sideways, which was a bit more difficult for me. The upshot is that my hip flexors are weak, which is preventing me from lifting my leg as high as I would like to.
OT was spent on strength and dexterity exercises. I also had what they call “extra practice”: my favorite PT tech Kiara wired me up to the stim bike and I pedaled that with my legs for 20 minutes.
I also had weekly “rounds” this morning, for which my entire doctor and therapist team gathered in my room to discuss my progress. It was a bore, but they seemed very happy with my progress. (Christine notes that he’s being modest. Linda informed her that the reports were “glowing.”)

During recreational therapy this afternoon, Jasmine and I played cornhole. The board was closer than it normally would be for the game, but I did pretty well, and it was fun to play.
The one bad note from today—I got an infection. Never take a mistress! Cathy just won’t let me go. (See yesterday’s post if you’re confused.) Because of the infection I’m not able to void sufficiently, so the nurses brought Cathy back. One of the few setbacks I’ve had since this ordeal started.
Excuse me! I thought we agreed that Cathy was NOT coming home with you! 😜
Keep up the awesome walking-in all directions! Great progress!!
Darn for Cathy's coming back. Get rid of Cathy again as soon as possible! On the positive note, you're walking almost normally. It's looking good!
